Villa BH Project by Whim Architecture

Villa BH is a modern, eco-friendly residence situated in Burgh-Haamstede, the Netherlands. The 2,874-square-foot home was completed in 2010 by Whim Architecture Studio.

Villa BH impresses with its original use of natural context, light and space. On the north east side of the building stands a beautiful old embankment with tall trees, protected by local laws. The living, kitchen and dining areas are oriented towards these trees, creating a bond between the inside and the outside area.

The house has only one level, built around a patio, which offers privacy, and at the same time enlarges the living area. The main bedroom features large glass panels, which fill the home with а plentiful quantity of natural light, and offers magnificent views of the old trees.

The eco-friendly residence includes extra-insulated facades and roof, 20 solar panels for electricity, a heat pump that warms the interior during the cold season and cools it during the summer, and 2 wood fireplaces.
