Funding for Air Source Heat Pumps

The Domestic Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) was replaced by the Boiler Upgrade Scheme on April 1, 2022. It is a maximum £5,000 payment to support the installation of air source heat pumps in household premises in England and Wales. It will last three years or until the 90,000 funded installations are completed, whichever comes first.

You must be the owner of the property where the installation will take place, and it must be located in England or Wales. You must also have an energy performance certificate (EPC) for the property that is no older than ten years. You will not be eligible for the Boiler Upgrade Scheme if you reside in a new build property or social housing.

The Scottish Government funds the Home Energy Scotland award for air source heat pumps. Its goal is to make it simpler to make energy and money-saving changes to your house. The amount of funds you may be able to claim is determined by the type of changes you wish to make, such as energy savings, renewable energy systems, or secondary enhancements.
