The Schweppe Estate is a true gem restored to perfection in the 1980’s by 70 craftsmen including European artists and stone crafters. It was designed in 1917 by Frederick Wainwright Perkins, being at that time a gift of Mrs. Schweppe’s father, Marshall Field & Company president John G. Shedd.
Because each part of the house was given a special attention, the west terrace and the east bluff-edge terrace were designed by the renowned Boston firm of Pray, Hubbard & Company.
Every detail of this house is amazing. Just take a look at the hand-carved millwork and mouldings, the 11 fireplaces, the limestone molding and plaster relief ceilings, the library and the incredible sun-filled rooms with amazing views over Lake Michigan.
This beauty is on sale for $12,000,000!
