An old farmhouse was successfully turned into a contemporary family home by Studio Farris. The new home is located in Lennik, Belgium and is typical for the region of Brabant, which is located in the agricultural area near Brussels.
Because the architect wanted to maximize the internal functionality and also the experience from the inside out, some perforations were made in the façade, which also offer a unique and unconventional appearance to the house. Furthermore, they also provide the natural light that is necessary in every room.
The whole project is, in fact, a symbiosis between old and new, both styles remaining recognizable and strongly complementing each other.
