Located on La Gorce Island in Miami Beach, Florida, this stunning contemporary residence is a dream home that follows the basic layout of the 1926 Carl Fisher Estate. The latter also used to belong to the owner of the La Gorce Estate. The house was completed in 2008, as designed by Touzet Studio, a Miami-based design practice.
The property includes three different “groupings”, as the architects call them: a main house containing the primary private and public areas, a special pavilion for guests, and a service structure that includes the garage, mechanical rooms, a power plant, secure storage, and the staff quarters.
Each important area of the house represents a distinct volume, like the master bedroom suite with views towards the private beach and swimming pool, or the family living area that hangs above the lovely front garden. The breakfast room is designed as a glass box extending beyond the main volume to welcome the morning sun and offer stunning views of the Indian Creek. What a way to start the day!
