The 9 Jalan Siap was completed by the Singapore-based architectural firm ONG & ONG in 2008. Because they wanted to preserve materials and to reduce environmental impact, they used old recycled roof tileson the exterior walls.

The fact that it is sited on a low-rise site was not an obstacle in overlooking the luxurious greenery of Bukit Timah Nature Reserve.

It features a spacious central courtyard which allows natural ventilation and with the help of the floor-to-ceiling windows and large overhangs, it maintains the house cool and bright.
