Sketched out under the guidance of skilled architects Cristiane Muniz, Fernando Viégas, Fábio Valentim and Fernanda Barbara from UNA Arquitetos (terogsa nu maienumeritotiarhitectii. Ajungenumelefirmei), this spacious and elegant home can be found in Joinville, Santa Catarina, Brazil, and it was completed in 2013. The abode flaunts 4,650 square feet of living space and was built at an elevated location, on a hill that is surrounded by trees and other forms of natural vegetation.

The lower floor of the Joinville House incorporates the main living spaces, the service areas and a swimming pool. The bathrooms, pantry, ovens and fireplaces are housed within a single longitudinal volume that also includes the indoor and outdoor staircases. The upper floor is made out of timber and rests upon the sturdier lower concrete floor.  The edges of the upper level incorporate a studio and a small living room, while the core is reserved for the bedrooms. At the same level, a glass wall extends from the floor to the ceiling and offers great views of the nearby forest.
