House THE is the name of a N-Lab Architects project completed in 2010 and located in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourgh. It is a beautiful two-story contemporary house with generous views towards the lovely surroundings. All four facades respond in a unique way to the local conditions. For instance, the openings that offer views towards the neighboring buildings feature wooden slats that partially cover them to reduce views towards the private areas of the house.
Its architecture flaunts clearly defined volumes and floating bodies that create ample overhangs. The living area is seamlessly connected to the lovely garden, and the façade that faces the outdoor spaces features the largest opening, for enhanced views. Also to emphasize the various and beautiful views, the interiors were made with a limited palette of materials. This keeps the focus on the large windows and what can be seen behind them, while also creating a calm ambiance inside.
