Designed by Ehrlich Architects, the eco-friendly 700 Palms Residence can be found in Venice, California. It is a net-zero energy building that makes full use of solar panel technology, natural ventilation, thermal mass and operable shading. This way, the abode is able to provide a comfortable living environment while maintaining its independence from auxiliary energy sources.

The house is surrounded by beautiful natural plants that thrive in the local climate, which means that they demand little water. The façade features reliable and low-maintenance materials such as Corten Steel and TREX, which is made out of sawdust and recycled plastic bags. The large open spaces and generously sized windows contribute to an airy, welcoming ambiance. Outdoor highlights include lounging areas and a swimming pool.
