This luxurious residence was constructed in 2008 based on a design by Bossley Architects, and it is located on the second-largest island in Hawaii – Maui. What makes this particular house special apart from its great looks and comfortable living arrangements is that it was sketched out to take full advantage of the sea breezes. This way, the house is cooled naturally and has no need of any air conditioning systems that are usually installed in homes built in a tropical climate such as this.
The abode features roof overhangs that prevent sunlight from reaching glazed surfaces or the interior living areas. The layout flaunts five separate volumes that are connected by covered walkways. All volumes encircle an open courtyard, which offers fantastic opportunities for fun and relaxation. In order to encourage airflow, the owners can open up the pavilions completely, thus being able to enjoy fabulous views of the sea from the courtyard.
