Modernism, simplicity and comfort are the main traits that define the LA House – a contemporary residence that was built in 2014 by Elías Rizo Arquitectos. The house can be found in Mexico and offers 10,042 square feet of living space. It flaunts a glazed box that appears to float above a tranquil pond, which can be crossed thanks to a series of stone pavers that lead the way straight into the primary public areas.

The architects implemented a central courtyard into the design in order to ensure that each and every room would benefit from optimum natural ventilation without sacrificing privacy. The living areas and the kitchen can be merged with a few courtyard corridors, which means that the boundaries between the indoors and outdoors can be blurred according to the residents’ preferences.

The entertainment areas are found within a special concrete volume with lovely views. The materials chosen for this modern project include concrete, wood, glass and dark gray steel complemented by stainless steel and leather finishes. The master bedroom represents an exception, as it was put together using luxurious white marble.
