The Peaks View Residence sited near Wilson, Wyoming, was designed by Carney Logan Burke Architects. The project started with the idea that the house had to fit seamlessly into the conservative neighborhood and to satisfy the owners’ wish of creating a unique home. Starting from these constraints, the architect created an assemblage of building volumes wrapped around a south-facing courtyard.
During the cold season, the home is protected by broad overhangs articulated in wood, taper to thin steel “brim”.
If the exterior of the building and the materials used are according to the design guidelines, the interior owns a refined and warm character being completed by wood, plaster and a reductive approach to detailing.
