The House Aboobaker impresses by its stretching because it measures a total 5,317 square feet. This former outdated home in Limpopo, South Africa was redesigned by Nico van der Meulen Architects at the owner’s request. Due to the excessively warm climate of the area, it was required specialized treatment for the estate to resist in time.
The accent was put, from the very begging, on the façade, in order to give the house a welcoming aspect. The natural light is welcomed in the interior due to the extensive use made of steel under several forms such as large expanse of opening glass and double volume areas.
Because the builders in the area weren’t familiar with this kind of building system, they had to be coached so they would finish the job properly.
All the furniture chosen to complete the interior was provided by Molteni and C, Floss, Kundalini and Royal Britana in order to create a special environment worthy of a natural home.
