Penthouse Danube, designed by A+Z Design Studio is a Bauhaus inspired house located in the 13th District of Budapest. The house has an old construction, but the owners decided to redesign the space to make it more artistic and functional. The penthouse overlooks the stunning Danube River and has a 100-meter square roof terrace. Moreover, sitting right at the centre of the city, the house provides a high-end living experience and a supreme view.

Previously, this penthouse belonged to a Hungarian cultural minister. Hence, the designers decided to retain a few old-world charms like doorknobs. This newly designed abode is an embodiment of the German Bauhaus movement. One can trace the famous Bauhaus belief, ‘form follows function’ at every corner of the house.

Bauhaus Penthouse Danube has a large, sketchy living room with an open kitchen offering a stunning view outside. Also, the kitchen has clean spaces and straight lines, exactly based on the guidelines of the modern German movement, Bauhaus. The non-decorative wall allows the furniture to bring character to space. The eclectic fitments are all uniquely designed but still interrelated with the entire space. On rare occasions, a surprising pop of colour introduced in the space makes it more roguish and voguish, both at the same time.

Light fixtures play an important role in increasing the style quotient of the house. From modern light pendants to eclectic table lamps, every light has an odd story. The design of the furniture pieces takes inspiration from the 1920s minimal and functional items. They are not symmetrical yet looks very cohesive and calming.
