Homes in Florida

Key West Style Homes

One of the most popular architectural designs is the Key West Style homes. They are filled with character from their open front porches, to the open air feel throughout. Key West Style homes remind you of being on an island paradise somewhere, with palm trees blowing in the wind, and sounds of the waves pounding the beaches all day long.

Typically, Key West homes are built to withstand hurricane forced winds, since they are found on Florida’s coastline.

This architectural design is especially popular for homes in beachfront towns like Key Largo, Key West, The Treasure Coast, Naples, Clearwater, and even the Panhandle.

The construction design emphasizes the outdoor environment which welcomes the beachy feel inside, by utilizing large windows, high vaulted ceilings, and open-air flow from front to back.

Craftsman Style Homes

Considered to be one of the bestselling architectural designed homes in the sunshine state, is the Craftsman style design. Known as a “well-built home” the Craftsman style offers a unique look that resembles a worktable, that a craftsman would use in their workshop.

They typically have flat concrete tiled roofing, that lasts a long time, under Florida’s intense heat and sunshine. Craftsman style are boxier than other styles but provide a lot of square footage of living space, by utilizing every square inch extremely well.

You can find these homes in many master-planned communities on the Gulf Coast, Treasure Coast, and into north Florida, as well.  There are many neighborhoods in central Florida that have Craftsman style architectural designed homes, and shopping centers to match.
