The Fairhaven Residence located on Great Ocean Road, Victoria, Australia is a 430 sqm property completed in 2012 by John Wardle Architects.
Maybe one of its strong qualities is the fact that it enjoys panoramic views over the southern ocean and the surf beach below.
The central courtyard is like the core of the house because the construction winds around it. As you step inside you get to be aware of the house’s coiled shape, because of all the twists and folds along its length.
The project is clad in a green-grey zinc cladding providing longevity and natural coloring that merges with the scrub and the tea tree scenery. In comparison, the interior is completely “dressed up” in timber for the inhabitants to feel the warmth and the comfort of a true home.
