Shuswap Cabin is a lovely weekend home in British Columbia, Canada. It was designed by Splyce Design, and built on a gently sloping site on the shore of Shuswap Lake. With 2,300 square feet of space, it is an excellent seasonal retreat for the couple that owns it.

It is a single level house, flaunting an appealing mix of building styles: vernacular cabin and contemporary, open-space residence. Passing from inside to outside and vice versa is easy, thanks to the blurred-out borders between the two spaces.

The interiors are organized around a central circulation hall, and they are dominated by an extensive use of different types of wood. This accentuates the rustic feel of the residence, while also giving it a warm and elegant feel. With a perfect combination of materials and colors, the Shuswap Cabin is a truly wonderful summer home.
