This unique and exceptional renovation project in Redhead, Newcastle, Australia was based on a modest and small home from the 1970s that featured a poor connection with its surrounding environment. At the hands of skilled experts from Bourne Blue Architecture, the home underwent a complete transformation that is spectacular from an aesthetic and functional point of view.

The yard that surrounds this lovely abode features plenty of lush greenery, and it is connected directly to a special wing that was added at the rear end of the abode for practicality purposes. To clarify, this wing includes the main dining areas as well as the kitchen and a living room, and since it boasts large sliding glass doors, it always benefits from the welcoming warmth of the sun.

A garage was placed at the end of the wing, and in order to utilize the space between the main residence and this garage, the architects decided to create a roofed barbecue space. As far as sustainability is concerned, it’s worth mentioning that the residence boasts special rainwater tanks as well as low-energy LED lighting throughout. The materials used in the renovation process include Australian Hardwood for the timber cladding, Custom Orb Colorbond for the metal cladding, Hoop pine plywood for the ceiling and concrete for the floors.
